Back to it!

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Yesterday trained clients all morning and have made food plans for a few of them.  Some of my clients are going on holiday or have just realised that summer is around the corner and it’s time to take MASSIVE ACTION!  Their training is going well and they seem to be disciplined in that area but food is the problem.  They have their food plans and should be easing into it this week.  Well done Chantel for your weight loss this week, 10 days to go till you pass your target!

I trained legs in the afternoon with Jon.  Boy!  Are they sore today!  I took me this long to recover from my weekends training as my back and biceps have taken ages to recover.  I have not trained legs for about 3 weeks, so it was good and I have been starving today, that has been a bit tricky as I have been training clients early morning to lunchtime.  I managed to get my shake and oats in with MCT oil.  It was a lack of planning on my account today!  Not again though!

Legs routine was short and under 30 mins.  Simon had made my plan for me, it was Leg Press, 2 plates for 16 reps, 3 plates for 12 reps and 4 plates for 8/8 with a drop set back down to 1 plate.  Ouch!  Lying leg curls up next next with 16/12/8/8 drop working fro 25kg up to 35kg and dropping back to 25kg.  I think I could have gone heavier, but will for next week.  Simon wants me up to 6 plates by next leg training day!  That tells me I am back to heavy legs!!!  Then it was Single Leg Extensions with 12/10/8, this was really hard, I worked from 10kg-20kg.   I am contemplating riding my bike back to work, but not sure how my legs will cope.  I have tried to sleep all afternoon to grow and rest, but back to work now, food and then more clients.

ANNOUNCEMENT.

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Over the weekend a decision was made by Team Winners to no longer have any connection to the UKBFF.   I will not be competing in or endorsing any UKBFF events due to their politics and values.  Helen and Simon were not treated very well in Macedonia at the weekend and to be told ‘you have to play the game’ to get a pro card is totally wrong.  As an athlete looking to pursue a career further afield, the federation should be embracing rather than trying  to intimidate.

I will be standing by my team in this decision and will be looking to pursue my pro card elsewhere, there will be a way and maybe going direct to the IFBB will help attain one in the future.   I shall also be getting in contact with my American contacts to do further NPC shows.

With regards to competing in the UK, I shall be qualifying with the NPA and the BNBF.  They are professional and very well run organisations and at the end of the day believe in natural body building and test for drugs.  I shall be happier knowing that I and my team will be treated more fairly.

After thinking about how my show was run last week, the disorganisation of the poor competitors music, being told to pose down in the Body Fitness (since when is that in the rules!?!)  and being on stage with the general idea that the pose down should be similar to what you see in a ’stripper’ club is not in line with my values or certainly my goals.  I have never seen that on the Arnold or Olympia stage.  Also walking out in the one piece to the compere announcing “the decision has already been made a long time ago” hardly seems fair, when it quite clearly states in the rules that ‘the judges must be mindful of the fact that the competitor may present a different total package………judges must ensure that this round is judged from a fresh perspective, ensuring that all competitors receive a fair assessment based on their attire in this round’…..

Up until 2 years ago pro-cards were handed out to girls at the finals.  This made it very appealing and I longed to get on the stage, it took a lot of hard work, discipline and preparation to get here.   Now, there are 2 natural athletes, more than ready and very capable to take to the stage and represent the UK.  But with one hand tied behind their back to get a pro card seems a ridiculous state of affairs.  I ask you, how many girls have you seen use their pro card in the last few years!  Gemma Williams, Ronnie Blewitt, Claire Mckee?  yet the UKBFF are willing to make it very difficult to give a pro card  by their small mindedness to hold true athletes back, by making them dance to their tune.

I can’t wait to compete again, this was how my year was intended to be at the start, we had discussed that I would be competing in all federations and events to get experience. So it is now back to the original plan.   I know where I am going, I am on the right path still, a natural way and with respect for myself and my team.

Back and Shoulders - Weekend Training and a fight!

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Yesterday I trained BACK!  so good to be back training, felt really ready.  Went in for early morning cardio and then trained later on in the day.  No clients, whole day off to see family and friends.

I did weighted neutral grip chins with (10kg) into free neutral grip chins into jump up neutral chins, 6 reps each and twice through - ouch!  Used my versa gripps for bent over rows with the olympic bar, working at 12/10/8/8 getting up to 12.5kg either side.  Straight arm pulldowns to finish, 2 sets of 15 reps.  Next week Simon wants me to go up by 2.5kg as my arms and back are very sore and I am going to grow!!! I finished off with 30 mins cardio and felt quite sick after.  I am back on the supplements today, NE2 and Creatine and the good old MCT oil!

What a fight last night!  Watched the Hatton fight on Sky live from Manchester.  I am so connected with Hatton now from continually watching that dvd, that I loved watching the fight.  Puts me in a good place for training!

Did 45 mins of cardio with Dave this morning.  He has only a week to go before his first show at the NPA on Yorkshire.  This is very exciting and we are all going up to support him.  He was tanning up today with pro-tan as he has already done a trial colour of jan -tana and is deciding which one suits him best.  Trained clients all morning and then back for SHOULDER training.  Jon coached me through the workout.  I was so sore before I started it was ridiculous, even my chest is sore?!?

Dumbell shoulder presses with 10kg, 3 sets and 1 drop at the end.  Arnie presses with 10kg, 2 sets of 8 reps.  seated military shoulder presses, 2 sets of 20 reps, (shoulders are killing by now).  3 sets of 15 reps with the dumbel lateral raises, (i love this exercise - one of my favourites now), did these with ease witht he 6kg and reverse barbell shruggs with my gripps.  30 mins cardio at the end.  I will have to take cardio out of my routines very soon, as I want to get bigger and improve my body for Octobers finals.

Helen went through to the second round of the Europeans today, but unfortunately didn’t make the top 6.  she did really well to go that far though.  She has a flight left to finish and then she can chill before starting it all over again.

Tomorrow is light cardio, think my body is going to be really sore!

one new pic on my front page!

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

My new pictures should be on my gallery from tomorrow, in the meantime there is one new picture on my front page - flash player.  It was taken the morning after the show when I was still very lean!

Thankyou to everyone for your well wishes, I am really, really looking forward to October 2oth!  I am ready to start back training from tomorrow and I am going to treat myself to a 5km run this afternoon - to blow off the cobwebs.  Today I am feeling almost back to normal, it is different to how I felt after New York as I was suffering with jet lag as well.

Site-managed the gym yesterday morning and trained clients all evening yesterday.  Rebekah is really coming along now with her training, she is still pressing heavy and did some great single arm lateral raises (drop sets, 3 sets of 20 reps!) Lovely.

My client Steve is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in 15 weeks.  I have devised his food and training and the rest is up to him.  Food is the key issue here as he loves it, but he needs to commit to time and planning, otherwise he falls by the wayside.  The Real Food Cafe in Winners 2000 is supplying him with his lunchboxes every day and I am going to ask them to sort out an afternoon snack for him.  He is an extremely busy accountant with his own business, he is organised with work, so now needs to adopt a new strategy to be organised with his food and training.  It is a tremendous life changing experience he is about to undertake, and he doesn’t want to be climbing the mountain wishing he had done things differently!  The weight will come off and he will be the fittest accountant in the bay who climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with ease!

Helen and Simon are in Macedonia for the Europeans.  Helen is with 20 fitness girls all aiming for their pro-cards.  The schedule starts tomorrow and we are all routing for her!

A little something for you x

While I am waiting for my website designer to crop pics from the weekend, here is a little snapshot via a site for you.

http://whitetiger-pt.com/wordpress/index.php

I am still quite tired and still sore from the weekend.  Looking to start training again from the weekend.  Simon has already got ideas for my new plan.  I am drinking water with a little salt in it to balance out my electrolytes but otherwise am getting back to it.

Trained clients all morning and am having to get one or two back on track.  Chantel has 2 weeks to Portugual holiday and has a target to reach, so we are going to change around her food and training for the next 2 weeks to get her there.  She has done it before, and she will again this time.  Back later for more clients and then the evening to catch up on sleep.

Helen is getting ready to leave tomorrow for the Europeans.  She has her routine, costume, suits all done.  She will be in Macedonia until the weekend.  All the hard work and preparation has been done, now she has to go out there and get her pro card!  Good luck Helen x

An invitation to the British Finals!

Monday, May 19th, 2008

I placed second in the qualifying heat for the UKBFF Body Fitness and I have an invitation to attend the British Finals in Nottingham in October.

It was a good day and weight was just under 128. lb

I now know what I have to do between now and October (just had meeting with my coach Simon) and its back to training asap.

I am very tired this afternoon and still very de-hydrated. My body is incredibly sore (like I have just done a huge workout!)   I have had some pictures taken early this morning as I am still lean so will be updating my site within the week hopefully.

I will be ordering the dvd and picture cd so you will also be able to see my show pics.

Going into work now with my trophy and to take my PUMP class, that should get me back into the swing of things.

Thankyou to everyone and my family for your kind words of support and encouragement and to Team Winners and my most of all thanks to my coach Simon.  I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him, his help, support, harsh and kind words and belief in me have got me this far.  And now I want to go further…   Thankyou!

less than 24 hours……….

OK, this it, showdown!!!  Today has been a good day, I was a little disorientated and tired this morning, but that passed and today has been an easier day.  I have had single eyelashes glued on by Claire Gay (Beautification - in Torre).  I had to go into town and buy some new earrings for the show (such hard work!) bought 2 different pairs, a new ring and another pair of sunglasses (have enough pairs now, but these are really cool!).

Drank almost a litre of water by lunchtime and then I have been left with a 1/2 litre to just take diuretics etc.  I had a sleep this afternoon whilst watching Ghostbusters 2 (what a life) - well, I have got my things sorted for tomorrow already!  Felt terrible and tired and real thirsty, but that passed.  I have 2 coats of Jan Tana on (body builder tan), my body looks great.  Helen came over and did a spot check for me. She has told me to suck on ice cubes when thirsty, what a great idea!   Have had almost my last meal (steak, sweet potato and 2 glasses of red wine (carb loading, each gram of carb binds to 3 molecules of water), therefore should make me look even tighter tomorrow and dryer. Next is 3 rice cakes with butter and honey, to fill my glycogen stores up.  It must be at least 10  weeks since I have had sugar, even then I eat so clean, it would have been sugar from natural and not processed foods.

Tomorrow Tamsin is doing my hair before we leave, breakfast, final coat of tan and then on the road for London.

Thankyou to all my friends, clients, work colleagues and family for  all your support and encouragement.

Everything is great.  I have got the best coach in the world.  I have done everything  to the letter.  I could not have done any more.

Tomorrow is show time.

Bring it on………………..

2 days out……..

Friday, May 16th, 2008

This morning was my last 30 mins of cardio, I did half on the stairclimber and half on the treadmill.  Helen and I trained the abs routine together and that’s it now till after the competition.

My abs are the best they have ever been, will get a pic taken and get it on my site for next week.  Everything is on track.  The diretics are every 2 hours.  My blood pressure is low and I am feeling tired. My body is starting to dry out and I am peeing for England!

Had the last exfoliating treament at Jodes today and my eyelashes, eyebrows have been tinted and french manicure on my toes.

I try to rest, but I can’t, quite restless, have bought a ‘hatton V  mayweather’ home with me so that can keep me still (for half hour at least!)

Finding it hard to type as co-ordination is crazy, so just wanted you to know,

feeling good

ready for show

ready to eat after show!

see you tomorrow

then its 1 day to go………………..
