ARMS

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Arms this afternoon with the usual cardio 40 mins and the plank, for a very tiny waist!  I saved calves and trained them this evening with my client Rich.  We had a great calf session on tuesday and thought I would save it for our session this evening.  We did donkey calves and seated calves - lovely!  Had a real burn in them this week.

Posing went well this morning, I am looking more relaxed and presenting quite well.  Practice, practice, practice…..

Had a whole head of lovely blonde highlights today with Tamsin my hairdresser and she cut my hair extensions into length.  I wore them for training and working with my clients for this evening.  I am really pleased with hair and colour and love the length.  Will have some new pics on the site soon, just choosing which ones to give to Brian to put on, (they are ones from 2 weeks ago) when I did the jan tana test tan.

I had the crystal clear microdermabrasion again yesterday and my skin is getting better, less and less dry patches.  One more session then I am jan-tana testing again next weekend to have a look and will get some more pics for my site too.

Anyway, back to ARMS, I am sure you can tell by the speed and energy that my workout was good.  I started with reverse grip chins and free dips to warm up the arms, then it was onto pressdowns for triceps and I superset barbell curls, it was working on 12/10/8 and I worked up to 25kg with the barbell.  Next it was onto single arm extensions, 12/10/8 with 8 strip, I had 10kg down to 5kg.  Incline hammer curls with the 10kg, working on a 12/10/8, this was hard and had to go into single arms a couple of times.  Concentration curls for biceps, 8/8/strip to 8 with 7.5kg to 5kg and then repeated but with the position of a hammer curl to really get my bicep at the top to peak.  then it was bench dips 12/10/8 and I stayed with a 20kg plate on my lap (with the help of Helen).  My arms were really pumped up, great, job done!  Accidentally took 2 creatine pre workout, probably why!

My traps are sore from yesterdays workout and so are my hamstrings, mission accomplished so far!

Tomorrow is another rest day, but I am teaching PUMP and clients, I may take my class up muscle hill a few times as they really enjoyed it and does my glutes and hams a world of good and theirs!

Delts and Hams

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

3 days off training and back in for hams and delts!  Great workout and Jon coached me through it.  I definately am not feeling so tired now and with the help of a few more calorie fuelled meals has also helped.

It was a long workout 55 mins in total including calves and abs, that is too long and I was tired but then became a little ‘wired’ as was on shift all evening.  I found it hard to wind down once I got home.  So will need to speak to Simon and see how we can shorten it as he will say its too long a workout too.

The workout started with Power Cleans.  Oh my goodness, what a hard start, Jon love these types of explosive movements as he is into Rugby and that type of training.  He said my form was good.  It was hard and ‘the snatch straight into the squat’ was the hardest bit for me.  Then it was upright rows superset into reverse bb shrugs with a 12/10/8 set.  Cable front raises superset into standing military shoulder press (ouch) these were really hard, started to get tired now!  3 sets of 15 reps.  Then I loved this next bit, it was single arms lateral raises  (down the rack) 10kg, 7.5kg, 5kg, 2.5kg all for 10 reps.  It was meant to be 2 sets but my shoulders were blown.  I loved this and got a massive pump and did 10 reps on all weights.  Thinking now that i WOULD LIKE TO BE A GLADIATOR (T.V SERIES) HELPED!   Standing calves for 3 sets of 15 reps, left leg only as that is my weakest calf and then superset with the plank.  40 mins cardio, split between the stairclimber and incline walk on the treadmill.  Helen joined me on the treadmill so that bit was much easier to get through.  I listened to THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING by Glenn Harrold on the stairclimber, which was good, although you are meant to be lying down and breathing slowly! Still, anything to get you through eh!?!

Today is ARMS……………

I didn’t train yesterday.  One of the reasons was that my co-worker got his new shifts wrong and so I was on duty on my own today and the other was that I am exhaused.  I am going to take a couple of days off my diet and have some different foods to bring me back on track.  I am cooking a lasagne as I type.  I need to get a few more calories in my body.  I had a posing session with Simon this morning and he is pleased with how I look.  I am not really holding too much fat or water today, so that’s good, and that is why I can afford to have a few more calories inside me as it is 7 weeks to go.  I weighed myself and I am 9 stone 9, incredible to think that my last competiton weight was 8 ‘11 (and that was holding water from flight to NY).  I am just pleased that I am going to look bigger this year, as that was the aim.  I don’t really think I look too much different, I have just packed a little more muscle and thickness all over.

fingers crossed for training tomorrow!
