History
I began my career in fitness after quitting a career in dance. I was lucky enough to come and work with Simon Jeffery, the owner of the business, who has been a great role-model, mentor and above all friend. He taught me so much about fitness, nutrition, psychology, every tool I needed to work successfully with clients.
My best friend is Helen Collins, the UKBFF Fitness Champion 2007 (www.thetrulystrong.com), and I work with some great people. Whenever I need to know if I am having a bad hair day or not looking as tight around my waist, I ask Dean, who is never short of a down to earth answer.
I have many goals left to achieve in this sport, and I am still a rookie in competitions. My long term aim is to make the Olympia and Arnold Stage in figure contests, as well as competing in figure, fitness and maybe even bodybuilding events in the UK.
I am a clean athlete, I don’t and will never use drugs, I don’t see how that fits with “fitness” and it goes completely against what I work to achieve with all my clients. Namely, balance in their lives, and to respect their body, mind and health. For them to make the most of their lives and to enjoy their journey.
I coach around 150 clients right now, and work with them to get the most out of their lives. I am a qualified NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programmer) as well as trainer, which is a skill I believe is crucial for anyone involved in coaching.
Understanding a clients “model of the world” and how their language affects their behaviour I believe are vital for making long term change.
I love my career; I don’t call it a job, because to me every day I am just doing what I want to do.
I wouldn’t want to do anything else.
